Betza´s Birthday Party

Yesterday was Betzabé´s birthday, and I really should have had a greater anticipation for the teasing wrought on me for baking a cake for one of my female co workers. After lunch, we had the cake and I was relentlessly poked fun at for having moderate baking skills (as men here do literally no cooking ever in their lives).

It was a lot of fun though, and I think that the cake tasted pretty good. It was a box mix, and it isn´t that difficult to add eggs, water, and oil to a mix before putting it in the oven. My limited decorating skills were very apparent, and perhaps the only thing that saved me from more mockery.

After lunch, we had our English class, where we learned some basic verbs such as "to need" "to want" "to have" and "to be". Personally I find English verbs to be significantly easier than Spanish verbs, though I could be biased.

When the day ended, I went home and enjoyed my very cathardic Thursday night television. Parks and Recreation is really starting to grow on me. After reading for a while, I tried falling asleep, but my neighbors (not in my building, but across the street) had what I can only assume was a "Black Eyed Peas Party" where until 3am they played nothing but "Boom Boom Pow" and "I´ve Gotta Feelin". It was a rough night.
