This will be a fairly short entry, as it is being posted on a borrowed computer.
Yesterday went by fairly quickly. Freddy and I went out to lunch with Ponce and Cente because it was Ponce's birthday. We ate at some BW3's kind of a knock off joint, but it was nice to have wings and see glimpses of American football on the televisions.
When we got back to the office, Freddy let me know that we had the next day off (today) because there is an innauguration ceremony for the new president. This confused the heck out of me, because I thought that they were doing that in the middle of my Thursday night television last week, but apparently that was all just prep stuff getting everyone ready for what was going to happen. Had I known that at the time, I would have been even more frustrated.
At any rate, without work on Wednesday morning, Tuesday night was freed up and Freddy invited me over to play some video games. There were a few people over at his apartment, and it was good to see a lot of the guys that I hadn't seen since I'd come back.
This morning, I woke up around 9:30 to the sound of blowing horns, whistles, and lots of voices. The Resistance was protesting down the stretch of highway outside of my balcony. They were marching towards a more central point in the city, and when I left my apartment to visit with Margo to see if I could borrow her computer, the line was still growing and marching.
Its really great though, because they enjoy things like spitting at the military stationed alongside the highway, and setting off firecrackers and yelling really loud afterwards, which sounds nothing like gunshots, and screaming...so I'll be a lot happier and more comfortable when this thing is over.
Lastly, I would just like to thank you all for the increase in comments. It is always really nice to hear opinions, updates, or ideas from you guys. It gives me both support, and fun stuff to do down here. Thank you.

I thought it was kind of funny that in the post where you thanked people for their comments, you had no comments. So here you go. Comment. :)
ReplyDeleteMy students are reading The Invisible Man for AP English. I've never read it. My mom just gave me Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet to read. Unfortunately, I am too busy thinking about how I'm supposed to read School Finance (booorrrrrrrrinnnnnggggggg) or how I should be adapting my Clinical Experience proposal to the liking of my professor. Seems as though all of my involvement on school and district committees for the past 5 years is not enough to get me ready to be a principal and I guess I have to find a bunch of new dumb things to participate in to learn how to be a principal.
I have enjoyed, however, reading the "Only at Bethany" Facebook page. It's provided lots of procrastination from above-mentioned reading. As has your blog. Oh, and as has my puppy. He requires constant attention.
Hope you have a great weekend!!! ♥
