Yesterday, Freddy had a meeting in the morning, so I had to take a taxi cab to work. At this point, I have memorized the directions I give to the taxi driver, which means I don´t have to look at the sheet where I had the instruction written down. This leads to lower prices from the taxi drivers, as it appears to them that I know what I´m doing.
Work yesterday was spent collecting more grant forms, organizing them, and preparing to talk with Freddy about the best way to fill them out. The meeting that Freddy was in, however, decided to last all day instead of just half of the day. This meant that after lunch, I was not going to have very much work to do. Because I knew that, I tried to make the English class for the day last a little bit longer. We have moved on to days of the week, and slowly but surely everyone is catching on to the "th" sound as well as the difference between "b" and "v".
After the lesson, I made myself useful by compiling a list of Christmas music that I could listen to while working. It took a lot of time and research. I´m not even kidding about that. I saved my list to grooveshark (a website with various songs, that allows for one to compile their own play lists and save them to listen to later), grabbed the snowman mug from the coffee station, filled it with water, and was content to listen to John Denver and the Muppets while sipping a nice cup of cool water on a relatively warm December day.
I turned on my Christmas lights as soon as I got home and made some chicken experiment for dinner. After dinner, I recieved some good news from Freddy in a text message. Global Ministries, has finally approved the funds for a laptop for the CCD, which means that sometime next week, I will be able to get a laptop that functions in my apartment!
Maybe on the 18th, when I feel air below 50 degrees, it will feel even more like Christmas. Until then, I´ll take my Christmas tunes at work, my snowman mug (which I have claimed and hidden so that no one else may use it), and my Christmas lights every day when I get back to the apartment.
