My First Group?

Saturday January 30th 2010 8:15am

Nothing went according to plan yesterday. Between forgetting things back at the office, running late to the airport, having Felix's flight come in late, and the groups flight delayed a whole day, my first day with a group was a day without a group.

I guess there was some bad weather in the southern US yesterday, which led to some delays and cancelations. This led to most of my day being spent running around on the phone with people in the US, with people here, and with our contacts for events we had planned trying to push around our itinerary to try and cram everything in with one less day to work with.

By the time we picked up Felix, found a hotel for him, and finished calling all the people we needed to call, I was finally able to sit down for some lunch around 4:00. I guess that is more of a linner or dunch really.

After linner, Felix, Marisela and I headed to the office to meet with a couple of people about plans. When I was there, I bumped into Luis Felipe who asked if, since we had no group, I could join the seminary meeting the next morning. Well that next morning is here, and I find myself back in Plaza, waiting to be picked up for what should be my first day with a group.

Wish me luck.

Oh and in reference to some of the comments: Its really good to hear from you Julie! Thanks for the recipe ideas Kacie, Julie, and Julie/Jeremy. It looks like people want me to root for the Saints. Kacie, my mom will love that you enjoy her being called MUM because all of her own children refuse to acknowledge it when she does that, and also, I think I have read almost every Hemmingway and they are all soo very good, and also the more "classic" books that I read, the more I realise I enjoy a good prose from the mid 19th century on. Much earlier than that, and the reading gets a little dry and a little long. There are exceptions of course.

Ok, so first group take two.
